The first image is Pepsi Twist (2003), made from plastic bottle caps and standing 12 feet tall by 36 inches diameter. It represents the very first bottle I created during my second year of undergraduate studies. I'm not sure Pepsi twist is even made anymore. Unfortunately these sculptures were made during a time where digital photographs were not readily available, so this is the only photo I have.

The second sculpture is called Do You See What's Happening? (2002). The sculpture is made from cut-up clear hard plastic (the kind that sandwiches sometimes come in) and six pack rings, meant to represent down and feathers of the Blue heron. The sculpture also includes real reeds sitting in a bed of tar, with tar also coming from the birds mouth. At this early time in my career I was studying the roots of the material of plastic and tar, both oil products. The smell of the tar quickly invaded the exhibition space, making the sculpture even more grotesque.
